One-third of health care pros don’t follow anti-infection guidelines

When asked, 33% of health care workers admit they don’t follow evidence-based guidelines for skin antisepsis.

Ironically, the survey — which included infection preventionists, epidemiologists, hospital administrators, nurses and other health care workers — found that the same pros ranked clinical data and guidelines as the most important consideration they used when selecting a product for skin antisepsis.

The results are troubling, especially considering these are often the very health care professionals tasked with infection control.

The survey was conducted by Infection Control Today.
