Man claims East Coast earthquake cured his deafness

A veteran who lost his hearing this past June says the recent earthquake healed the problem.

Robert Valderzak, 75, a Washington D.C. resident, fell last June and as a result lost his hearing. Doctors said the hearing loss was caused by a combination of nerve loss and  problems with the bones and fluids in the ear.

During the recent earthquake that rocked D.C. and most of the rest of the East Coast, Valderzak said he felt something happen in his head … and moments later, he turned to his visiting children and said, “You know, my hearing is back. I can hear everything.”

Valderzak’s doctor plans to do more tests to confirm how much of his hearing has returned and what may have caused it.

For his part, Valderzak is thrilled and says he feels like it was a miracle sent by God.
