New site aims to help fill health IT jobs

A new website is trying to help providers find consultants and contractors to hire for health IT jobs.

The demand for IT pros in healthcare is increasing rapidly as the move toward electronic health records and other initiatives has created many new health IT jobs. Often, the need is greatest for temporary contractors and consultants to assist during a health IT implementation or upgrade.

gBench, a recently launched social networking site, aims to connect healthcare organizations and recruiters with health IT consultants so they can find the best people to meet their needs.

The site is free to join for consultants, with both free and paid options for employers. gBench allows providers to search through a database of thousands of consultants and view detailed information about their skills, availability and contact preferences. Employers can also search by vendor and product to find people that specialize in implementing specific systems.

Compared to other recruiting methods, that gives providers a faster and more effective way to find the right consultants for, according to gBench.
