CMS reminds providers about upcoming meaningful use deadline

2012 may be in full swing, but providers still have until the end of next month to attest to meaningful use to receive 2011 EHR incentive payments.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued a statement reminding physicians of the upcoming deadlines to attest to meaningful use during 2011.

Providers have until February 29 to register for 2011 incentives and attest to meaningful use through the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System.

February 29 is also the deadline for providers to submit all remaining Medicare Part B claims from 2011 — claims submitted by that date will count toward the $24,000 in Part B charges providers must reach in order to receive the maximum incentive payment.
