Just what we all needed: A new source for hard-to-kill MRSA infections!

Scientists have discovered a new strain of MRSA in cow’s milk.

The good news is, the bug is killed in the pasteurization process. But the drug-resistant strain can’t be detected with standard tests hospitals use, which could put some people at risk of catching the infection.

While the milk is safe to drink once it’s properly processed and pasteurized, drinking raw milk or handling animals infected with the bug, could pass the bug on to humans.
