A health IT research firm recently announced a list of the software products healthcare organizations are most satisfied with.

Health IT research firm KLAS recently announced its latest annual ranking of the top healthcare software vendors.

The firm’s report, “2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software and Professional Services,” was based on interviews conducted with 18,404 providers about their experiences using 693 different software products.

The top-ranked software vendor overall was electronic medical record and practice management vendor Epic, which scored 87.1 out of 100 in KLAS’s client satisfaction rating.

Software from Epic was also named the top-rated acute care EMR system, as well as the top ambulatory EMR and practice management system for practices with more than 75 physicians.

Athenahealth’s cloud-based AthenaClinicals application was ranked as the best EMR system for practices with 11-75 physicians, while Amazing Charts’ EMR system was rated number one for practices with fewer than 10 doctors.
